It was, I guess, about 17 years ago, when I firstly came in contact with oriental philosophy due tue a course at the local library. it  happend to be Daoism.  I was already practising kongfu at that  time and  I was gradually deeply  into Chinese culture.When I was searching for links about Daoism, I found Zaadz. (it has altered in Gaia Community)

When I was 13 years old, I started to correspond with a girl in South-Korea and for  5 years I was deeply into the Korean culture, but since I lost contact, I started to focus myself gradually on Chinese culture.
 
When I started to live on myself, I found out that I had a neighbour from China, she came from  Guangdong province. I have tried to help her in many ways, to learn Dutch, to fill in forms etc, writing letters if  necessary . She is living with her family. She moved elsewhere but we still have contact now and than.
When I was a little boy, I was already amazed by the Chinese restaurants where we went to with my family. And I already had in my mind to marry a Chinese woman when I was full grown. It was more than a feeling actually.  I guess, it was 7 years ago, when I met  a man, he was a neighbour from my aquaintance and he said to me: “You are an endangered spiecies” He was really amazed about my interest in his culture.  He came from Taiwan and was in the employ of the Taipei  Representative Office in The Hague.

At the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002  I  got the chance to go to China and  I went  on my own for only ten days, too short actually. But I don't regret. It was amazing and the food was so delicious.

 What can I write more about myself….mmm…. I don't smoke and drink and I am fond of grean tea, water and I love to bike.

I would like to write: when you have something in your mind don't let it go, maybe you have to wait for many years, but  it can be accomplised when the time is right.

I Follow Dao

I follow Dao- the seasons are my friends;

Oposing it, misfortune come my way.



Within my breast no sorrows can abide.

I feel the great world's spirit through me thrill.

And as a cloud I drift before the wind.


Or with the random swallow take my will.



As underneath the mulberry trea I dream.

The water-clock drips on, and dawn appears:

A new day shines o'er wrinkles and white hair.

The symbols of the fulness of my years.



If I depart, I cast no look behind;

If I still alive, I still am free from care.

SInce life and death cycles come and go,

Of little moment are the days to spare.

Thus strong in faith I wait and long to be

One with the pulse of Eternity
